The summer festival season has come and gone, but things are popping for Monocle Band!
Not too long ago we played an amazing show opening up for our buddies Front Country at the famed Wildflower Pavilion at Planet Bluegrass. What a hoot! Thanks to the folks at The Grateful Web for the photo above and to Planet Bluegrass for having us.
And, we've lured some amazing new musicians into the fold. Since the beginning of the year, Dave Weinand has graced Monocle with his upright bass playing, in addition to singing harmony vocals and lending his hyper-musical ear to every aspect of our sound. We're also so excited to introduce you to Emily Lewis, an exceptional violinist who has joined to fray to bless our songs with her soaring and exquisite sound. You might have had the chance to catch Emily's fine playing at some of our shows this summer. In addition, we just added Todd May on drums and percussion...dude is a sensitive musical badass with a deep background. We're so proud of this group of musicians and everyone is digging deep in to the Monocle repertoire. We can't wait for you all to hear the band in this new format.
And...we're so excited to let you know that we'll be going into the studio this month to start work on our second full length record. We have an amazing set of new original songs worked up and are incredibly pumped to be recording at eTown Studios in Boulder, CO. In the producer's chair this time around is John McVey, an extraordinary musician who has been behind some fantastic recordings.
Long story short, there is so much good stuff happening right now! Stay tuned! We'll keep you all posted shortly.
Thanks, as always, for your love and support!
